Mount Zero Heroes - Porch and Parlour

May 19, 2016

Sandy feet, beach towels and active wear are the accessories of choice at our Mount Zero Heroes for the month of May - the ultra cool Porch and Parlour on Sydney's Bondi Beach. Their approach to the menu is very much in alignment with the lifestyle of the Bondi locals - Clean living, healthy eating. As a happy result for us 'The Porch' - as it is referred to locally has sourced a slew of our products to be used across their all day menu. Co-owners Sarah Hendriks, Sam Smith and Alexander Relic gave us the low-down on all the important stuff - the food, the drinks and the look.

Let's Eat!
Breakfast bowls of dark leafy greens, sprouted breads (made in house) along with expertly brewed Will & Co coffee. The lunch menu encourages a splash of Pinot Gris to compliment your Cone Bay barramundi, or Young Henry’s ale to top off one of the best steak sandwiches you’ll ever eat. Progressing into the evening, lights are dimmed, candles lit, blues played and the menu becomes a share style offering. Freshly shucked Coffin Bay oysters, chilli & salt crusted beef carpaccio with crispy kipflers, parmesan & wild rocket or zanibar beef skewers with charred pineapple relish.

A Sunset Splash?
The carefully selected ‘house’ wine list with 12 wines selected from mostly boutique Australian vineyards as well as a few smaller international producers. On top of this the ‘rotating’ wine list, consisting of four biodynamic, organic, natural or sustainable wines by the glass will indulge even the most adventurous wine lover.

The Look
Layers of flaking paint on the walls frame  a curated clash of patterns – recycled timber, concrete, heritage tiles, metals with patina, vintage kilims and zinc paint. Intimate in-between breakfast, lunch, dinner and bustling, packed and vibrant during service. If you can get a seat, you're guaranteed a great experience!
